Something a little different....

A little experimenting with acrylics... (and photography) Being an artist that prefers painting in oils, I occasionally become tempted to try new mediums...and when the opportunity arises... and in this case, acrylics have found their way into my oil patch.... I find I must purge them!! Soooo This is my orb/planet somethin-or-other... Acrylics do create interesting instant textures... I'll try to foto them... Is this painting done?.... City Hall Saratoga painting

City Hall painting. Part of my Broadway series. In fact this is the first in the series. There are a few choice buildings that I chose to paint individually and the rest I painted in panaramic "city blocks", like the one posted below. The Adelphi Hotel and the Arcade building are a couple others that are completed as individuals.

Featured Artist, Dave Papa

One of Soave Faire's many original artists on display in their gallery upstairs!

"Dave Papa is a premier equine artist living in Saratoga Springs. His art is sold internationally and commercially, and his original oils are in many prominent private collections."

Daves paintings are great, I like the ones that have the background muted as though looking through a camera with a tite aperature depth-of field...very nice!

Over this past summer he spent many days outside of Soave Faire painting horses and has amassed quite a collection of horse painting, very reasonably priced I might add...
